What is Advantage for Puppies and Small Dogs?
Advantage containing the active ingredient imidacloprid is the most widely used insecticide in the world. The medication can stop fleas from biting within 5 minutes and is able to kill 98% to 100% of the fleas within 12 hours of application. It will start destroying fleas and larvae within 20 minutes of contact and can help prevent infestation if the pet comes into contact with other infected pets. The solution has proven to be waterproof and will remain effective even if the pet is bathed or goes swimming. The medication can also control lice on dogs.
How is Advantage for Puppies and Small Dogs used?
Advantage is usually applied topically once every month or as directed by a veterinarian. The contents should be squeezed via the applicator onto the back of your pet’s neck and allow it to spread naturally, where it will remain on the oily layer of the skin. Contact a veterinarian for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the pet’s weight, condition and their response to the therapy. Do not get the solution into the pet’s eyes or in their mouth.
Adverse effects
Pets given Advantage generally experience no adverse effects. If you notice your dog is showing side effects, contact a veterinarian immediately.
Warnings
The medication should only be used on small dogs below 4kg of weight.
