What is Alanase Nasal Spray?
Alanase Nasal Spray can treat and prevent allergy symptoms such as itching, sneezing and runny or stuffy nose when in contact with irritants such as pet fur, pollution and pollens. The active ingredient beclomethasone dipropionate is mainly prescribed to treat allergic rhinitis commonly caused by hay fever and other allergies. Some people may also use the bottle to shrink and prevent nasal polyps from returning after surgical removal.

How is Alanase Nasal Spray used?
Alanase Nasal Spray is usually taken 2 to 3 times per day at evenly spaced intervals or as directed by a doctor. The dosage will depend on the patient’s condition and their reaction to the medication, contact a doctor for the correct dosage. Shake the spray and gently clear your nose before administering the spray. Close one nostril by placing a finger against one side of your nose. Tilt your head forward and insert the nozzle to the other nostril. Firmly push down on the collar to administer the spray and breathe out through the mouth. Repeat the process for another dose if necessary and also to administer to the other nostril. Wipe the nozzle clean and replace the cap for storage.

Adverse effects
Patients using Alanase Nasal Spray may encounter unwanted side effects such as:

  • Sore throat
  • Headaches
  • Unpleasant taste or smell
  • Nosebleed
  • Sneezing
  • Nasal dryness or irritation

Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist or encounter more severe side effects such as:

  • Swollen face, legs or ankles
  • Cold or infection
  • Muscle weakness
  • Increased difficulty breathing
  • Vision problems
  • Extreme fatigue

Warnings
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.

Alanase Nasal Spray is not always suitable for all patients.
