Amoxycare (Amoxicillin Trihydrate) - 200mg (500 Tablets)

What is Amoxycare?
Amoxycare containing the active ingredient amoxicillin trihydrate is a broad spectrum semi-synthetic antibiotic for pets. The medication is usually effective against a vast range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria found in dogs. The tablets can be used to treat infections to the eyes, ears, skin, wound, respiratory tract, urogenital tract and alimentary tract.

How is Amoxycare used?
Amoxycare is usually given to the pet 2 times per day or as directed by a veterinarian. The antibiotics should be given in a cycle of 7 days. The tablets can be given to the pet directly from the hand or added to their food for consumption. Contact a veterinarian for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on your pet’s weight, health condition and their response to the therapy. The recommended dose is 10mg for every 1 kg of bodyweight of the pet split evenly in 2 doses.

Adverse effects
Amoxycare is generally very well tolerated but might cause a disturbance in the gut of the pet. Contact a veterinarian immediately should you notice any irregularities in the pet.

Warnings
Do not use the medication on dogs less than 10kg bodyweight.

Immediately proceed to the veterinarian if your pet suffers an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.

Amoxycare is not always suitable for all animals. Always consult your veterinarian prior to using this medication if your pet is pregnant, breastfeeding, breeding, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if it has any allergies or other health problems.

The correct dosage and prescription commonly depend on the animal and the condition being treated. Do not adjust the dosage without the approval of your veterinarian. This product is only for use as prescribed and instructed.
