What is Aristocort Cream?
Aristocort Cream containing the active ingredient triamcinolone acetonide is a medium to strong potency corticosteroid. The medication works by slowing or stopping the chemicals in the body that cause inflammation. It is used to treat a variety of skin conditions such as itching, redness and inflammation associated with conditions such as eczema and dermatitis.
How is Aristocort Cream used?
Aristocort Cream should be applied topically to unbroken skin 2 to 4 times daily or as directed by a doctor. Before application of the medication, wash and dry both your hands and the affected area. Apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected area and gently rub it in until it is evenly distributed. Do not wrap or cover the treated area unless specifically directed to do so by a doctor. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient's response to the therapy.
