What is Cetcip?
Cetcip is an antihistamine tablet containing the active ingredient Cetrizine. It is most commonly used by people suffering from hayfever or allergies to relieve symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, or runny nose. It can also help with the itching and swelling associated with by hives.

How is Cetcip used?
Cetcip is a chewable tablet containing 10mg of Cetrizine hydrochloride.

Take the dosage prescribed by your doctor. Depending on the severity of your condition, this is usually 5mg - 10mg (half a tablet to one whole tablet) per day.

Adverse effects
The more serious side effects of Cetcip (Cetrizine) can include:

  • fast, pounding, or uneven heartbeat
  • weakness, tremors (uncontrolled shaking), or sleep problems (insomnia)
  • severe restless feeling, hyperactivity
  • confusion
  • problems with vision
  • urinating less than usual or not at all

If you experience any of the above, stop taking Cetcip and contact your doctor.

You should also stop taking Cetcip and contact your doctor if you notice any signs of allergy to this medicine (difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat).

You may also notice less serious side effects while taking Cetcip including:

  • dizziness, drowsiness
  • tired feeling
  • dry mouth
  • sore throat
  • cough
  • nausea
  • constipation
  • headache

Warnings
Cetcip is contraindicated if you have had an allergic reaction to Cetrizine.

Advise you doctor if you have had any adverse reactions to other antihistamines in the past.

Cetcip (Cetrizine) can cause drowsiness. Be aware of this is you need to drive a car or operate machinery while taking Cetcip. Drinking alcohol while taking Cetcip can increase this effect. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Cetcip (Cetrizine).

Cetrizine is not expected to be harmful to unborn babies, but it can be passed through the breast milk.
