What is Cheerio Gel?
Cheerio Gel containing the active ingredient sodium monofluorophosphate is a medicated fluoride oral gel. The gel has a very palatable flavor and is widely accepted by children. The toothpaste is used to remove plaque, protect tooth enamel from attack by bacteria that cause dental cavities and remineralize the areas of the tooth that have been attacked by acids from bacteria.
How is Cheerio Gel used?
Cheerio Gel should be used 1 to 2 times per day. The gel does not contain too much chemicals and is not harmful to children if they eat it. Brush your teeth with the medicated gel as directed by your dentist to provide maximum protection for your teeth.
Adverse effects
Cheerio Gel is generally very well tolerated but may cause minor side effects such as:
- Nausea
- Upset stomach
- Skin rash
- Acute toxicity
Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist or worsen.
Warnings
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Cheerio Gel is not always suitable for all patients.
