What is Epadel S900?
Epadel containing the active ingredient ethyl icosapentate should be used along with a low fat, low cholesterol diet, weight loss and a proper exercise regime to lower fats in the blood. It works by decreasing the amount of triglycerides being produced in the body. The medication is a type of omega 3 fatty acid found in fish oil and is considered a lipid regulating agent or antilipemic type of medication.

How is Epadel S900 used?
Epadel should be taken with a meal along with a glass of milk or water to prevent an upset stomach. The medication is usually taken orally 2 times per day or as directed by a doctor. Dosage will depend on the patient's condition and their response to the therapy, contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment. The capsules should be consumed whole and not chewed, crushed, dissolved or split before swallowing.

Adverse effects
Epadel may cause unwanted side effects such as:

• Trouble breathing
• Dizziness
• Sore throat
• Joint pain

Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist or worsen.

Warnings
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.

Epadel S900 is not always suitable for all patients.
