What is Eukroma?
Eukroma is a topical medication prescribed to reduce the appearance of darkened areas on the skin. These conditions can include freckles, moles, age spots, or patches that do not match the surrounding area. It operates by reducing the amount of melanin in the treated area to lighten it until it blends with other areas. Your health care provider may prescribe it to be used along with other treatments or for other conditions not listed here.

How is Eukroma used?
Eukroma is normally applied to the affected area twice each day, but your particular dosage and frequency of administration will be determined by your health condition, symptoms, and response to other treatments. Never attempt to self-medicate or alter any of the given instructions to prevent causing unexpected health problems.

Before beginning regular use, you may be instructed to apply a small amount of medication on the skin to ensure any unusual reactions will not occur. Before applying the cream, thoroughly wash and dry the area to be treated. Put a small amount of medication on the skin and gently massage it in allowing any excess to air dry. Wash your hands after each application to prevent the cream from affecting your palms. It is suggested to use the medication at the same time each day to get the most efficient results by keeping a consistent level of medicine on the skin.

Adverse effects
Some patients using Eukroma have reported experiencing side effects such as:

  • Stinging or burning
  • Dry or flaky skin
  • Irritation or mild skin rash
  • Signs of an allergic reaction (Hives or swelling)

Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist or worsen.

Warnings
Inform your health care provider about any condition you have that may cause complications with treatment such as reduced liver or kidney function. It may be necessary to reduce your application frequency or make other changes to prevent potential complications from occurring.

Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.

Eukroma is not always suitable for all patients. Always consult your health care provider prior to using this medication if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health problems.

The correct dosage and prescription commonly depend on the patient and the condition being treated. Do not adjust your dosage without the approval of your health care provider. This product is only for use as prescribed and instructed.
