It can be used to treat symptoms of estrogen deficiency such as hot flushes, depressed mood, vaginal dryness or bleeding, burning, irritation and to prevent osteoporosis.

Gestone containing the active ingredient progesterone is a man made version of the naturally occurring female sex hormone which is essential for the functioning of the female reproductive system. It is generally used to help early pregnancies to continue by women who have a history of unexplained miscarriages. The medication may also help a fertilized egg implant into the womb lining in women trying to get pregnant via in vitro fertilization (IVF). The ampoules also have the ability to regulate bleeding disorders of the uterus.
