What is Apo-Ropinirole?
Apo-Ropinirole containing the active ingredient ropinirole hydrochloride is considered a dopamine agonist type of medication. The medication works by mimicking the work of dopamine, a natural substance the brain requires to properly control body movement. It is used to treat Parkinson’s disease as low levels of dopamine in the body have been associated with conditions caused by Parkinson’s disease such as body stiffness, slowed movement, balance problems and tremors (poor muscle control). Some people may also use the tablets to treat restless legs syndrome (RLS), a condition that causes discomfort in the legs and strong urges to move the legs.

How is Apo-Ropinirole used?
Apo-Ropinirole is usually taken orally 3 times per day or as directed by a doctor. The medication can be taken with or without food but should be taken with a glass of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient’s response to the therapy. Do not change the prescribed dosage or abruptly discontinue the treatment as it may cause severe withdrawal symptoms.

Adverse effects
Apo-Ropinirole may cause unwanted side effects such as:
