What is Arrow-Simva?
Arrow-Simva containing the active ingredient simvastatin belongs to a class of medications called HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors or statins. The medication works by slowing the production of cholesterol in the body to decrease the amount of “bad” cholesterol (low density lipoprotein, LDL) and triglycerides while raising “good” cholesterol (high density lipoprotein, HDL) in the blood. The tablets should be used along with a proper diet, exercise schedule, weight loss and other lifestyle changes to lower high cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of strokes, heart attacks and other heart complications.
How is Arrow-Simva used?
Arrow-Simva is usually taken orally once daily in the evening or as directed by a doctor. The medication should be taken with or just after a meal along with a drink of water.
