What is Lipvas-20?
Lipvas can help increase the amount of “good” cholesterol (HDL) while decreasing the amount of “bad” cholesterol (LDL) in the body. The active ingredient atorvastatin calcium is considered a statins or HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor type of medication. The medication when used along with a regular exercise program, proper diet and other lifestyle changes can help reduce the risk of strokes, heart attacks and decrease the need of heart surgery in the future.
How is Lipvas-20 used?
Lipvas should be taken as directed by a doctor, usually once per day. The tablets should be taken with a full glass of water but can be taken with or without food. Contact a doctor for the correct length of treatment and dosage as it will depend on the patient's condition and the their response to the medication. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting a doctor as it may cause cholesterol levels to rise.
Lipvas may cause unwanted side effects such as:
- Vision problems
- Unusual fatigue
Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist or worsen.
It is recommended not to consume grapefruits or grapefruit juice while using the medication as it may alter the amount of the drug in the bloodstream.
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Lipvas-20 is not always suitable for all patients. Always consult your health care provider prior to using this medication if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health problems.
The correct dosage and prescription commonly depend on the patient and the condition being treated. Do not adjust your dosage without the approval of your health care provider. This product is only for use as prescribed and instructed.
