What is Brufen-400?
Brufen-400 containing the active ingredient ibuprofen is considered a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) type of medication. The tablets work by reducing hormones that cause inflammation to help decrease swelling, pain or fevers. The medication is used to reduce fever, pain or inflammation caused by headaches, dental pain, menstrual cramps, muscle aches or osteoarthritis. Some people may also use it to treat the common cold or flu like symptoms.
How is Brufen-400 used?
Brufen-400 is usually taken orally 3 to 4 times per day or as directed by a doctor. To prevent an upset stomach, the tablets should be taken with a meal or a glass of milk. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient's condition and their response to the treatment. The recommended maximum dosage is 800mg per dose or 3200mg per day.
Patients using Brufen-400 may encounter unwanted side effects such as:

Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist or encounter more severe side effects such as:
- Mental or mood changes
- Unexplained weight gain
- Vision changes
- Change in urination
- Difficulty breathing or swallowing
- Ringing in the ear
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Brufen-400 is not always suitable for all patients.
