What is Lanzol Relief?
Lanzol Relief (Lansoprazole) is classified as a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by limiting the amount of acid produced in the stomach to prevent conditions such as stomach and intestinal ulcers or assist in the healing process. It can also be used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), preventing backwards flow of the acid from the stomach to prevent heartburn and injury to the esophagus.
How is Lanzol Relief used?
Lanzol Relief is usually taken orally with plenty of water but should be taken 30 minutes prior to any meal. Consult a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the patient's condition and their reaction to the medication. The capsules should be taken whole and not cut, crushed or chewed to ensure the medication is released evenly. The medication should not be stopped without contacting a doctor as abruptly stopping the treatment may cause a relapse in the condition or severe withdrawal symptoms.
Lanzol Relief may cause the patient to encounter side effects such as:
- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhea or constipation
Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist or encounter more severe side effects such as:
- Irregular heartbeat
- Muscle spasms
- Difficulty breathing
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Lanzol Relief is not always suitable for all patients. Always consult your health care provider prior to using this medication if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health problems.
The correct dosage and prescription commonly depend on the patient and the condition being treated. Do not adjust your dosage without the approval of your health care provider. This product is only for use as prescribed and instructed.
