What is Levoflox 750?
Levoflox containing the active ingredient levofloxacin belongs to a type of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. The medication works by preventing bacteria from reproduce and killing the bacteria that causes infections. It can be used to treat conditions caused by bacterial infections such as pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis as well as infections to the urinary tract, kidney, bladder, prostate and skin.
How is Levoflox 750 used?
Levoflox is usually taken orally once per day or as directed by a doctor. The tablets can be taken with or without food but should be taken with plenty of fluids throughout the treatment. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient’s response to the therapy. Do not discontinue the medication without completing the prescribed dosage, even if symptoms look to be healed, as abruptly stopping the treatment can cause the infection to return and the bacteria to become immune to antibiotics.
Adverse effects
Patients using Levoflox may encounter unwanted side effects such as:
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Headaches
- Dizziness or lightheadedness
- Stomach pain
- Vomiting
- Oral thrush or yeast infection
Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist or encounter more severe side effects such as:
- Insomnia
- Loss of appetite
- Vision problems
- Seizures
- Irregular heartbeat
- Mental or mood changes
- Jaundice
Warnings
Levoflox 750 can increase the skin's sensitivity to UV light. Do not use sun beds or UV lamps of any kind while taking this medication, and avoid exposing your skin to direct sunlight as much as possible. When exposure is unavoidable, do your best to cover your skin with clothing and/or use high factor sun block cream.
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Levoflox 750 is not always suitable for all patients. Always consult your health care provider prior to using this medication if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health problems.
