What is Nicardia Retard?
Nicardia Retard works by increasing the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart and relaxing the blood vessels to ease the strain on the heart to pump blood. The active ingredient nifedipine belongs to a class of medications called calcium channel blockers. The medication can be used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) which can reduce the risks of strokes, heart attacks and kidney diseases. Some people may also use the drug to prevent and control Raynaud's phenomenon and chest pain (angina).

How is Nicardia Retard used?
Nicardia Retard should be taken as directed by a doctor, usually once daily. The tablets should be taken on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient's response to the therapy. The medication should be taken whole and not chewed, crushed, broken or split to prevent too much of the drug from being released at one time.
