What is Ocepred Eye Drop?
Ocepred Eye Drop containing the active ingredients prednisolone and ofloxacin is considered a fluoroquinolone antibiotic type of medication. It can be used to alleviate inflammation and pain in the eye as well as improving the user’s vision. It can be used to treat conditions such as conjunctivitis, pink eye, keratitis, corneal ulcer, stye, blepharitis, uveitis and iritis. Some patients may also use the eye drops to prevent infections after eye surgery.

How is Ocepred Eye Drop used?
Ocepred Eye Drop should be applied exactly as prescribed by a doctor. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the condition being treated and the patient’s response to the therapy. Prior to applying the medication, wash and dry your hands thoroughly. To apply the eye drops, pull down the lower eyelid to form a pouch. Squeeze one drop of the solution into the eye and close your eyes for 1 to 2 minutes. Place a finger on the inside corner of the eye and apply gentle pressure to prevent the solution from draining into the tear ducts. Repeat as necessary for additional does for either eye.

Adverse effects
Patients using Ocepred Eye Drop may encounter unwanted side effects such as:

  • Blurred vision
  • Stinging or burning sensations
  • Pain or discomfort in the eyes

Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist or worsen.

Warnings
Do not discontinue the medication without completing the prescribed dosage, even if symptoms have disappeared, as abruptly stopping the treatment may cause the infection to return and become harder to treat.

Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.

Ocepred Eye Drop is not always suitable for all patients. Always consult your health care provider prior to using this medication if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health problems.

The correct dosage and prescription commonly depend on the patient and the condition being treated. Do not adjust your dosage without the approval of your health care provider. This product is only for use as prescribed and instructed.
