What is Ziten?
Ziten (Teneligliptin) is a new diabetes medicine, which is used along with the diet and physical exercise to manage type 2 diabetes in adults. Ziten (Teneligliptin) is classified as a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors. Ziten (Teneligliptin) facilitates the decrease in blood glucose levels by increasing insulin release and suppressing glycogen release.

How is Ziten used?
The standard initial dose of Ziten (Teneligliptin) is 20 mg per day; however the dosage may vary on a case by case basis, depending on the severity of the disease and the condition of the patient. In case the therapeutic goals have not been achieved with 20mg per day, the dose can be increased up to a maximum dose of 40mg per day. The tablets can be taken with or without food but should be taken with a glass of water.

Adverse effects
Ziten (Teneligliptin) is well tolerated by most people. However, some patients may still experience side effects, associated with Ziten (Teneligliptin). The most common adverse events include:

  • Cold sweat
  • Constipation
  • Dermatitis
  • Eczema
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Nausea
  • Stomach pain
  • Tremors

Warnings
Ziten (Teneligliptin) can be unsuitable for certain groups of patients. Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.

In combination with other antidiabetic medications, Ziten (Teneligliptin) may increase the risks of a hypoglycemic reaction.
