Genox works by blocking the activity of the hormone estrogen in the breast to stop the growth of some tumors that need estrogen to grow. The medication can be used along with surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy to treat breast cancer that has spread to other part of the body or to reduce the risk of developing breast cancer in patients with high risk of the disease.
